Frequently Asked Questions
How do I make a booking?
Go to www.goodlifecat.sg/booking and schedule a slot for your visit! You will know that your appointment has been successfully booked when you receive a confirmation email. Before you make an appointment with us, make sure you are aware of the grooming admission criteria in our T&Cs, as well as to select the accurate service based on the coat length of your cat 🐈
How often should I send my cat for grooming?
There a common misconception that just because cats generally keep themselves clean, there’s no need to groom them regularly! We recommend a grooming appointment every 6 weeks; this frequency also depends on weekly maintenance at home.
Regular grooming also helps you detect any underlying health issues that has the potential to worsen - and catch it before it worsens.
How long is each grooming session?
The duration of each grooming session depends on your cat’s coat, condition (where special care may be required) and requested service. Our groomers will always give you a heads up on the estimated time required, and when you can pick your furkid up.
Time and effort are required to understand each cat's tolerance towards grooming; the grooming session is conducted at the cat’s pace rather than to forcefully complete a full session within the allocated time. An average duration is provided below as an estimate:
Quick Fix: 10-45 minutes
Ala carte bath: 45 minutes – 1.5 hours
Basic groom: 1.5-3 hours
Full groom: 2.5-4 hours
Can I watch my cat during the grooming session?
Viewing at the grooming area will be restricted due to safe distancing measures. We also recommend owners to wait at the lounge and enjoy our sweet offerings!
Do you groom aggressive cats?
Should your kitty have aggressive tendencies, please inform our groomers of this prior to your appointment as we may reschedule your appointment to accommodate to your cat’s needs.
We will strive to make the grooming experience comfortable for all our clients, including those who may display aggressive behaviour. Minimally, it should be possible for your cat to be picked up in order for us to proceed with the grooming session. The grooming session will be assessed and paced accordingly. In the event where your cat is no longer able to cope with the grooming procedure, we will discontinue the session.
In cases where additional groomer(s) and/or time is required to handle your cat, an Aggressive Pet Surcharge of $50 will apply.
Is there anything I need to prepare before my appointment?
You can pack catnip, treats, toys etc. along with your cat to reward good behaviour. During the appointment check in, kindly highlight any useful information (e.g. health issues, aggressive behaviour, past grooming experiences etc.) so that our groomers are aware of the cat’s temperament and medical history.
What is your appointment policy like?
Please be punctual for your appointment. If you are more than 15 minutes late for your appointment, we have the right to cancel it without notice. If you are running late, kindly drop us a call to inform us!
For pick-up of kitties post-grooming, we encourage owners to do so as they are done (we will inform you at least 30 minutes prior to completion of the grooming session). We have a grace period of 45 minutes and should circumstances prevent you from arriving within the allotted timing, late pick-up fees will apply.
Do you have a hygiene protocol in your salon?
We ensure that grooming tools, surfaces and equipment are sanitised in between usage and grooming sessions. We use veterinary-grade disinfectants in Good Life Cat to ensure that all solutions used within our premise are pet-safe.
